About Me

Hi, I’m Wakasm (Mikey in the real world) and I have a passion like many of you for playing video games, board games, and general entertainment. I started the website to make a stronger connection between the time I spend on my hobbies. As I got older, I realized that sometimes, despite spending hundreds of hours playing a specific game, years later, I’d forget I even had those experiences. So I felt it was time to create a website, put my thoughts down, both for myself but to share them with anyone who might care to read!

I started this journey by recording some of my experiences in the form of let’s plays. While I started doing this in videos, I’ve found I’ve found a stronger passion for board games, especially solo board gaming.

A lot of the content here is part journaling, part noise, and I hope to one day have at least some interesting content that resonates with at least one other human being out there. If I can turn it into something more, great, but that is not where this started from.

Who is the content on this website for?

For starters, it’s for me and possibly my son, so that there is a place for them to learn about my entertainment interests. I can’t express how weird it was when I realized I couldn’t remember if I played a game or my thoughts on an experience… and felt the best place to start would be to log, write, and record! Since a lot of content is about board games and video games, if you are interested in those subjects or enjoy my style of reviewing or playing, then this could also be for you. My confidence is not high when it comes to writing and camera work but it’s also fun which is why I am doing it as a side hobby.

I’m trying to work my way backwards through the hundreds of games I’ve played and hope to eventually map out everything I’ve ever played to a sort of wakasm-centric database of experiences.

Hopefully the effort reflects my love and passion for the hobbies. I’m probably not as hardcore as some others but maybe there will be a nugget of value to you – the reader!

Solo Board Games

This is an area where I specialize in as I’ve been a moderator for the /r/soloboardgaming subreddit for quite a while now, as well as have been a passive lurker to the 1-player guild on board game geek. While I do not exclusively play board games solo, I play them solo a lot.

Video Games

I got my start on the Atari 2600 and have played pretty much every accessible console ever since. From Megamania to Metroid, The Legend of Zelda to Tunic… I’ve played a lot of games. Some I’ve mastered, some I’m still bad at to this day. Hopefully some of my gaming content resonates as well.
