his was my first solo play of Isle of Trains: All Aboard, and also one of my first physical board games back on the table after changing my recording setup. I picked it partly because it has a small footprint, and partly because I wanted something that would let me get used to filming with real cards and real hands again. The first scenario, Welcome to the Isle of Trains, is pretty direct: finish the primary contracts for Billington’s and Flint Beach, then complete one secondary objective.
The run itself went fairly well, even if I spent a lot of time talking through the rules, correcting myself, and trying to remember whether I had taken one action or two. The useful card was the caboose that let passengers count as cargo during deliveries, which basically became my win condition. I did waste a turn or two overbuilding, and the deck timer got down to three cards, but I still completed the scenario before the solo deck ran out.
